Current position:
Managing Director of learnpurple

Previous position:
I spent 15 years as MD of a high profile company providing specialist human resources solutions to the catering industry. Prior to this I held senior management roles in hotels and contract catering. In addition to running learnpurple and being vice-chair and treasurer of the HCPTA, I have been closely involved with several high profile employment and people development projects, two of which I am still a board member of. I occasionally provide an employer's perspective to a Department of Education and Employment steering committee. I am also a contributor to Caterer and Hotelkeeper magazine and am regularly invited to give speeches and media interviews on people issues.

Why you joined HR in Hospitality:
To meet like minded people. To keep abreast of latest devlopments and good practice in HR.

How would your best friend describe you:
I asked her - she said: Creative, busy, organised, kind, good fun and an excellent cook!

Current Position:
Currently working in a Training Role for , PTL London 2012, (Olympics & Paralympics)

Recruitment Manager for the newly Opened Four Seasons London on Park Lane, Training & Talent Manager for the Royal Lancaster, Training & Development Manager for Le Meridien, various properties, I have worked in the Hospitality industry for 25 yrs, starting in the kitchen and then moving around all hotel operations.

Also involved in Pride London, Springboard, Sit on various Educational Advisory Boards.

Previous Position:
Training & Talent Manager for the Royal Lancaster, Training & Development Manager for Le Meridien, The Cumberland Hotel and Le Meridien Heathrow. I have worked in the Hospitality industry for 21 yrs, starting in the kitchen and then working my way around all hotel departments. I have an excellent operational understanding of all areas within a hotel which helps me excel in the world of HR and Learning & Development.
Over the years I have worked with Caterer Magazine - Buddy, I am also on the Springboard Fundraising Committee, and also the Parade / HR Director for Pride London.

Why you joined HR in Hospitality:
I joined 10 years ago, firstly to meet other people within our industry. I want to make a significant change in the way we do things in the HR and Learning & Development by encouraging best practice and supporting each other, and also encouraging and developing new talent into our industry.

Our industry is growing at a fast pace, if offers so many opportunities for people and the HR world needs support and help to make the industry a great place to work. I have been with Profile for just over 7 years where I am responsible for all Human Resources placements at senior management, regional and corporate level both in the UK and Internationally.

Why you joined HR in Hospitality?
I wanted to have the opportunity to give something back, plus help and network with other HR professionals in moving the issues forward that we all have. It’s a great way of sharing information and putting ourselves on the HR in Hospitality map – we know we are all doing great jobs and work hard in helping and encouraging people into the industry - and this is another medium for doing that.
