Human Resources Manager at Portico, a specialist provider of high quality, tailored front of house guest services, awarded with Investors in People Gold. I am proud to work with an amazing team who deliver excellent service from the heart to our clients with great care and attention.
I started my career in hospitality 10 years with my first job abroad, more specifically in Dublin where I was an intern in a fine dining restaurant (The Shelbourne Dublin) and soon after moved into human resources and also obtained a BA in HR Management. Since then I have been growing my career in HR inspired by amazing mentors and the most supportive managers along the way. During the closure of the Shelbourne for refurbishment I worked as HR Manager at a hotel in Dublin Airport (now Radisson) where I re-established a hr department. Thereafter I returned to the Shelbourne during pre-opening and rebranding and was involved in recruitment drives and implementation of all policies and procedures. 2.5 years later I moved to the metropolis that is London to broaden my horizon with brands such as Hilton (HR & Training Manager, The Waldorf Hilton) and Marriott (HR Manager – maternity cover, Marriott County Hall), before joining the InterContinental London Park Lane.
Why you joined HR in Hospitality?
Working in HR and in hospitality has always been my passion and throughout my career I had great mentors who inspired and motivated me, which increased my drive to progress and with that I always aspire to also pass this on to the people I work with and those who seek advice. HR in Hospitality is a great way of extending my network and sharing my experiences as well as helping others share their experiences with those who are like-minded. It is about raising the profile of HR in general and providing tools and resources as well as that personal touch for HR professionals and those who are on a path to becoming HR professionals.
