Employment Law with DLA Piper

Over 40 members of HR in hospitality from a wide cross section of professions including Human Resources, Learning and Development, Contract Catering, Hoteliers, Recruitment Specialists and Management Graduate Trainees attended the Employment Law Event on Thursday 26^th November. We were treated to an excellent breakfast buffet by our kind hosts at Sofitel London St James and we would especially like to thank HR, Learning and Development Manager Maarten Dirks and his team for their kind hospitality. 

Vinita Arora, Partner, with DLA Piper UK LLP, covered topics including Tips, cover charges, service charges and gratuities; Safeguarding Children & Vulnerable Adults; and finished off with tips on avoiding Unfair Dismissal claims and Race Discrimination claims when trying to comply with Immigration laws. They proved to be quite topical as many questions were asked from the participants for all three areas covered.

 The Sofitel London St James was very proud to show off its refurbished and bright conference & events area to the participants of the HR in Hospitality November event on Employment Law.   The venue which was unveiled goes hand-in-hand with the new French concept So Spa at Sofitel which was launched onto the London Canvas in late September. Following a nearly 9-month period of building and decorating, both the So Spa and the new conference area are light and modern, with a little French twist in design, ambiance and service.
